How to Export Data to a CSV File

A step-by-step guide on exporting your bills to a human-readable CSV file.

Exporting Your Bills

Exporting your data creates a CSV file containing all your bill records. This file can be easily opened with spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Apple Numbers, allowing you to view, analyze, or back up your data outside of the app.

How to Export

  1. Go to Settings: Open the app and navigate to the Settings screen.
  2. Find CSV Section: Tap on the CSV Import/Export option.
  3. Tap Export: Select the Export Bills to CSV button.
  4. Share or Save: Your device’s standard share menu will appear. From here, you can:
    • Save the file to your device (e.g., to the “Files” app on iOS or your Downloads folder on Android).
    • Send it to another app (e.g., Email, Google Drive, Dropbox).
    • Share it with a contact via a messaging app.

That’s it! Your data is now exported.

What’s in the Exported File?

The exported CSV file is in a human-readable format. All content, including column headers and bill types (Expense/Income), will be in the language you were using in the app at the time of export.

For a detailed explanation of each column in the file, please see our guide on Understanding the CSV File Format.
